AerialClassesAerial classes use special equipment to suspend students off the ground; an aerial hammock, daisy chains and carabiners. At Dharma, our hammocks are suspended from a single point creating a “U” shape hammock for your body to rest in, lean on, and fly. The material used is similar to the material you find on the stages of Cirque du Soleil and many other circus and dance theaters around the world. We take our rigging and your safety seriously. Our hammocks are certified to hold 500 lbs!

In this class, we alternate between the mat and a fabric hammock to find a deeper awareness of each posture. Students will learn the fundamentals of this fun, yet challenging practice at a slower pace, while building strength and flexibility.Yogic principles such as ahimsa (non-harm) and mindfulness are at the core of this practice. Each class ends with savasana where you’ll be cocooned in your hammock, suspended in air, fully supported and surrounded by soothing music. This is a wonderful complement to your mat practice!

Take the fear out being off the ground and doing inversions with this step by step class. This class can be taken repeatedly to learn new and different poses in the hammock (or sling) and to simply come out and play. Great class to just come ask questions, get instructions on specific poses. This class is a prerequisite for Aerial Flow.

In this class, we’ll move through creative flow sequences, both in and out of the hammocks, transition to balance and strength poses, and then explore a few basic aerial “tricks”. Some of these movements will allow you to flip upside down, others will have you swinging from side to side, or allow you to stand suspended in air. Prior experience is needed to attend this class.

This class kicks it up a notch! Get ready to move and explore tricks, rolls, and flips while soaring through creative sequencing. This class offers time for play, exploration, and finding your own groove with your hammock while still challenging your body and mind.Prior experience is needed to attend this class.

Aerial Yoga can be exciting! We understand! But, for safety reasons, we ask that you are quiet and listen attentively while the teacher is talking, and please do not progress beyond your teacher’s instruction.
Avoid practicing on a full stomach.

  • Please wear a sleeved shirt that covers the armpits.
  • Wear form fitting clothing. Please do not wear baggy clothing as they can snag and catch on the sling’s fabric causing accidents.
  • Ensure that your clothing is “zipper and velcro free” and remove all jewelry, watches and hair clips. These items can snag and damage the silk hammocks.

Pre-registration is necessary for all aerial classes.
Please show up for class at least 15 minutes early to allow time to adjust your hammock height.
A $15 no show fee will be charged to all monthly membership clients if they preregister and then don’t show up. If students no show and are paying the drop-in rate no refunds will be given.
